Dexter Ventures

Dexter Ventures invests early in Indian startups across technology, consumer and fintech.

Overview

Dexter Ventures is an India-focused micro VC fund headquartered in Mumbai. The firm grew out of Dexter Angels, an angel syndicate that began investing in 2020 and backed more than 40 investments before expanding into a dedicated seed-stage fund. Dexter Ventures works with founders at the pre-seed and seed stages across technology, consumer and business-focused startups. Its investment interests include AI-first businesses, fintech infrastructure, healthcare, SaaS, SME digitisation, B2B commerce and consumer brands.

Investment Focus and Stage

Dexter Ventures invests primarily at the pre-seed and seed stages, with the ability to participate in Series A rounds. Its approach centres on businesses built around India's expanding digital infrastructure and changing consumer and enterprise behaviour.

The firm's focus areas include creator economy, healthtech, API-first businesses, fintech infrastructure, SME digitisation, consumer brands, horizontal SaaS, B2B commerce and AI-first companies. Rather than limiting itself to one industry, Dexter looks for businesses where technology can open up new markets or make existing industries easier to serve.

Its investment range is typically around $50,000 to $400,000, making the firm particularly relevant to companies raising their first institutional or early angel-backed rounds.

Fund Size and Portfolio

Dexter Ventures has backed more than 40 startups through its investment activities and has supported more than 80 founders. Its portfolio includes Pilgrim, Fello, Omnivio, NeuroPixel.AI, Multibhashi, Hair Originals, Refrens, HealthySure and Jeevam Health.

Pilgrim, a beauty and personal-care brand, is among the consumer businesses in its portfolio. Fello operates in consumer fintech, while Omnivio focuses on supply-chain technology. NeuroPixel.AI works on AI applications in healthcare. These investments reflect the range of businesses Dexter backs across consumer, financial services, enterprise technology and deeptech.

Dexter's portfolio has also produced exits. TagZ, a beverage brand backed by Dexter Angels, was acquired by Reliance Retail in 2024.

Leadership

Devendra Agrawal is the Founder of Dexter Ventures. He also founded Dexter Capital Advisors in 2013 and has worked across investment banking, private equity and operating roles. Before starting Dexter Capital, he served as CFO of Resonance and helped raise ₹100 crore in private equity funding. Earlier, he worked with Olympus Capital and Clear Capital. Agrawal graduated from IIT Bombay in electrical engineering and has completed all three levels of the CFA examination.

Anuradha Aggrawal is Co-Founder and General Partner at Dexter Ventures. She is also the founder of Multibhashi, an online language-learning platform. Her work across entrepreneurship and venture investing gives Dexter an operating perspective alongside its investment activities.

Dexter's wider team includes investment professionals working across deal execution, portfolio support and founder relationships, alongside its broader network of entrepreneurs and investors.
