FAAD Capital
FAAD Capital backs Indian startups from early funding through growth stages.
Overview
FAAD Capital is an Indian venture capital and investment platform that began in 2015. It started as a startup-focused investment network and has grown into a professional investment platform with a broad portfolio across technology, consumer businesses, financial services, healthcare and emerging industries. Its investing activity spans companies from their early stages through later growth rounds.
Investment Focus and Stage
FAAD invests across Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A and Series B rounds, with its strongest activity historically concentrated around early-stage companies. Typical initial investments range from $100,000 to $500,000, while the firm can participate in larger rounds as companies mature.
The firm follows a broad investment mandate rather than limiting itself to one industry. Its portfolio shows particular interest in deep tech and space technology, fintech, healthcare, consumer businesses, mobility and climate-focused companies. FAAD also evaluates opportunities where technology can create new business models or address large Indian markets.
Fund Size and Portfolio
FAAD has built a portfolio of more than 100 companies and operates a $40 million fund. Its investments include GalaxEye, Battery Smart, Big Bang Boom Solutions, SpaceFields, Castler, Grip Invest, Prescinto, The Hosteller, Beyond Snack and Skye Air Mobility.
The portfolio covers companies at very different points in their journeys. FAAD has backed startups during their early fundraising rounds and continued participating as some businesses raised larger institutional rounds. Its portfolio also includes companies that have progressed toward public markets, giving the firm exposure to the full path from private startup investment to potential IPO outcomes.
GalaxEye represents FAAD's deep-tech and space investments, while Battery Smart reflects its mobility thesis. Other investments such as Castler, Grip Invest and Beyond Snack demonstrate the firm's exposure to fintech and consumer businesses.
Leadership
Karan Verma is Co-Founder and Director of FAAD Capital, having started the organisation with Dr. Dinesh Singh in 2015. Verma has been involved in developing FAAD from its early startup-investment network into a broader investment platform.
Dr. Dinesh Singh is Co-Founder and Director, with investment interests spanning multiple sectors. Aditya Arora serves as CEO and has been closely involved in the firm's investment operations and investor network.
The leadership team has built FAAD around a broad founder and investor network, allowing the firm to participate in companies at different stages of development rather than limiting its role to a single funding round.
