Golden Sparrow Ventures backs Indian-origin founders building Deep Tech and Enterprise AI.
Overview
Golden Sparrow Ventures is a US-domiciled venture capital fund founded in 2023 by Rishaad Currimjee. The firm backs Indian-origin founders building Deep Tech and Enterprise AI businesses for global markets. Its investment approach is built around a small number of high-conviction investments and long-term partnerships with founders.
Investment Focus and Stage
Golden Sparrow invests at the pre-seed and seed stages, with initial cheques generally ranging from $400,000 to $1 million. The firm looks for exceptional engineering talent developing technically difficult products with global potential.
Its core focus is Deep Tech and Enterprise AI, including areas such as semiconductors, space technology, AI infrastructure, robotics, advanced computing and other engineering-intensive technologies. The firm also backs Indian founders in the diaspora and companies positioned to build businesses across the India-US technology corridor.
Fund Size and Portfolio
Golden Sparrow's first fund was an $8 million vehicle launched in 2023 and was fully deployed across 18 companies by 2025. Its second fund targets $20 million and held its first close in January 2026.
The portfolio includes EtherealX, Morphing Machines, Hosted AI, CyGenica, Tectonic, MyoLab, Figr, Sentra World, Quanfluence, PyjamaHR and Theranautilus. EtherealX is developing reusable launch technology, Morphing Machines works on semiconductor architecture, while Hosted AI provides infrastructure for GPU-based computing.
The firm's early investments have also produced follow-on rounds from larger investors. EtherealX, for example, raised a $20.5 million Series A after Golden Sparrow's seed investment, while Morphing Machines secured a Series A that marked a substantial increase in its valuation.
