GrowthCap Ventures
GrowthCap Ventures backs Indian fintech, AI and deep-tech startups at an early stage.
Overview
GrowthCap Ventures is an India-focused venture capital firm founded in 2023 by Pratekk Agarwaal. The firm is a SEBI-registered Category II AIF built around an operator-led investment model. Its investment platform combines early-stage capital with the founder's experience in building businesses across financial services and technology.
Investment Focus and Stage
GrowthCap invests from Pre-Seed to Pre-Series A, with typical cheques of $250,000 to $750,000. Its Fund I focuses on FinTech, DeepTech and AI, with particular interest in businesses solving structural problems through technology.
Within fintech, the firm looks at payments infrastructure, lending, credit underwriting, banking-as-a-service, insurance technology and financial data infrastructure. Its deep-tech interests include climate technology, EV infrastructure, battery analytics and hardware-software integration. In AI, it looks at applications for underserved industries, enterprise tools, supply-chain intelligence and compliance technology.
GrowthCap prefers founders who have demonstrated early customer traction and have the potential to build scalable businesses. Its operator-led model also means the firm works with portfolio companies on areas such as go-to-market, hiring, enterprise partnerships, fundraising and regulatory challenges.
Fund Size and Portfolio
GrowthCap's maiden fund had a target size of ₹50 crore and achieved a ₹20 crore first close in February 2024. The fund was designed to invest in approximately 12–15 companies over two years.
Its portfolio includes Advance Mobility, RePut, Spense, TrusTerra, Navanc, Mylapay and Integra Robotics. Advance Mobility was GrowthCap's first investment and operates a fleet-management and mobility business serving the transportation ecosystem. Spense builds banking and card infrastructure for fintechs, while Mylapay provides payment technology for banks and financial technology companies.
TrusTerra applies AI to the used-EV market through battery-health assessment and resale pricing. Navanc provides technology for real-estate credit underwriting, while RePut combines AI and blockchain for supply-chain traceability. Integra Robotics develops robotics systems for defence and industrial applications.
