BEENEXT is a Singapore-headquartered venture capital firm founded by Teruhide Sato in 2015, backing early-stage technology startups across India, Southeast Asia, Japan, and the US. BEENEXT is an early-stage venture capital firm headquartered in Singapore. Teruhide Sato founded the firm in 2015. He had earlier taken his company BEENOS public in Tokyo in 2004. Sato also co-founded Open Network Lab, an early Japanese startup accelerator. BEENEXT invests across India, Southeast Asia, Japan, and the United States. India alone receives roughly half of its dedicated fund capital.

Investment Focus and Stage

BEENEXT backs early-stage technology and online businesses. Its focus spans direct-to-consumer models, marketplaces, and payment infrastructure. The firm has closed several funds dedicated to India over the years. One fund closed at $110 million, with $55 million set aside for India. A separate $50 million fund targets SaaS businesses in Japan.

Fund Size and Portfolio

BEENEXT has backed more than 300 startups since its 2015 launch. Over 70 of those startups sit in India, with 45 more across Southeast Asia. BharatPe, Mobile Premier League, NoBroker, and Shiprocket all count among its confirmed investments. Droom and CitrusPay also appear on the firm's own list of notable bets. Sato's team has continued raising new funds as the firm has grown.

Leadership

Teruhide Sato founded BEENEXT and serves as its founder and CEO. He co-founded Cybercash Japan with SoftBank back in 1997. Dirk Van Quaquebeke and Hero Choudhary serve as managing partners alongside him. Daisuke Nojiri leads the firm's Indian investment team as vice president. No public source found confirms a person named Anirudh Garg among its leadership.
