More than 80 percent of its India investments over five years have been early-stage bets.

Fund Size and Portfolio

Bessemer closed its first dedicated India fund at $220 million in 2021. A second India fund followed in 2026, closing at $350 million. The firm has deployed close to $700 million across India since 2006. Globally, Bessemer manages $18 billion in assets under management. Swiggy, Urban Company, BigBasket, Livspace, and Perfios all count among its confirmed investments. Boldfit, Mediassist, and Nephroplus also sit within its portfolio.

Leadership

Vishal Gupta leads Bessemer Venture Partners India as partner and managing director. He joined the firm in 2006 and works from its Bangalore office. Gupta focuses on consumer internet, fintech, and healthcare technology deals. Anant Vidur Puri serves as partner alongside him. Nithin Kaimal rounds out the leadership team as chief operating officer.
