JSW Ventures

JSW Ventures invests in ambitious Indian technology startups at the early stage.

Overview

Founded in 2016, JSW Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm backed by the JSW Group family office and based in Mumbai. The firm partners with founders building technology-driven businesses for large Indian and global markets. Its connection with the JSW Group gives portfolio companies access to a wider network of businesses, operators and industry relationships.

Investment Focus and Stage

JSW Ventures invests primarily at the Seed and early-growth stages, with a focus on businesses that have demonstrated product-market fit and can scale rapidly. Its investment interests span consumer technology, financial services, healthcare, enterprise software, SaaS, agritech and emerging technology.

The firm has developed a particular interest in businesses using technology to modernize large, fragmented industries. In enterprise software, it has backed companies applying AI to finance and business workflows. On the consumer side, it looks for companies building differentiated products and brands with the potential to reach large customer bases.

Typical investments range from around $1 million to $3 million, with the firm participating in subsequent rounds as portfolio companies grow.

Fund Size and Portfolio

JSW Ventures raised its first $10 million fund in 2016 and followed it with a $40 million Fund II in 2020. Fund II was backed by institutional investors and family offices and was designed to support a focused portfolio of high-growth startups.

The firm's portfolio includes Purplle, HealthPlix, HomeLane, Cureskin, Convin, Aereo, EcoSoul, Growcoms, Hyperbots, StayVista, StrideOne, Vetic and Zvolv. Earlier investments include IndusOS, LimeTray and Overcart.

Recent investments have expanded the portfolio into areas such as AI-powered finance automation and sustainable consumer products. JSW Ventures backed Hyperbots, an AI platform for finance teams, and EcoSoul, which develops sustainable alternatives to everyday consumer products. Its investment in Purplle has also progressed into a major consumer internet success story.

Leadership

Sachin Tagra is Managing Partner at JSW Ventures and has led investments across consumer, healthcare, fintech and enterprise technology. Before joining JSW Ventures, he worked across venture capital and financial services.

Vikas Chandak is a Partner at the firm, while Gaurav Sachdeva is a Founding Partner and Advisor. The investment team also includes Niyati Raval, who focuses on consumer and consumer technology opportunities, and Karan Seth, who focuses on enterprise software and B2B businesses.

The team combines venture investing experience with access to the wider JSW business network, supporting founders as they move from early traction toward larger-scale operations.
