WaterBridge Ventures
WaterBridge Ventures backs Indian startups from Seed and Pre-Series A across technology, commerce, finance, and deep tech.
Overview
WaterBridge Ventures is an India-focused early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2017. The firm backs technology-led businesses across areas including AI and deep tech, digital commerce and infrastructure, financial services, manufacturing, and distribution. Its approach is built around investing early and staying involved as companies develop.
Investment Focus and Stage
WaterBridge typically makes the first institutional venture investment at the Seed and Pre-Series A stages. Its strategy focuses on businesses addressing structurally large Indian markets where technology can change how products, services, or infrastructure are delivered.
The firm looks for non-obvious business models and founders with a deep understanding of the problems they are tackling. Its portfolio spans consumer platforms, financial services, mobility, enterprise technology, manufacturing, healthcare, entertainment, and supply-chain businesses. WaterBridge also reserves capital to support successful portfolio companies through later rounds, with 70% of its capital reserved for follow-on investments through Series C.
Fund Size and Portfolio
WaterBridge has raised two principal funds and an Opportunities Fund. Its current platform reports $200 million in capital across its two main funds. The firm has partnered with 36 companies and recorded five exits, with those companies having a combined value of around $4 billion.
Its portfolio includes Atlan, Chalo, CityMall, Magicpin, Eloelo, Posha, Bijnis, DataWeave, ZET, PocketPills, LegitQuest, Loopworm, BimaKavach, CBREX, Fairdeal.market, Yellow Metal, and 9stacks. Recent activity includes continuing to invest in Fairdeal.market's $15 million Series A in 2026, following its earlier Seed and Pre-Series A investments. WaterBridge has also backed companies from their earliest stages, including Posha, which it first invested in when the product was still at the design stage.
