WEH Ventures is a Mumbai-based early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2017. It invests in Indian startups across fintech, consumer, content, commerce, healthcare, emerging technology, and other technology-led categories. The firm focuses on founders building businesses around opportunities that are still taking shape.

Investment Focus and Stage

WEH Ventures primarily invests at the pre-seed and seed stages, often becoming an early institutional investor. Its approach is centered on identifying category creators before their markets become crowded or widely understood.

The firm looks for founders with strong conviction around the problem they are solving, resilience through difficult periods, and the ability to build from first principles. Its portfolio shows a willingness to back unconventional ideas across financial services, consumer products, content, robotics, agriculture, healthcare, and technology.

Fund Size and Portfolio

WEH Ventures has launched three funds. Fund I was a ₹20 crore vehicle, while Fund II and Fund III followed as larger institutional funds. Its current portfolio spans around 29 companies, with investments including smallcase, Pratilipi, Jar, AppsForBharat, MasterChow, Animall, Unbox Robotics, Mitigata, Segmind, Clinikk, Noto, SustVest, Hectar, Fragaria, MedMitra, Flent, and Infinity Box.

The firm has also backed companies that have progressed into later funding rounds and category leadership. Smallcase, Jar, MasterChow, AppsForBharat, Pratilipi, and Unbox Robotics are among its better-known investments. Its portfolio covers fintech, consumer technology, brands, agritech, deep tech, robotics, cybersecurity, healthcare, and content.

WEH Ventures Fund I is registered as a Category I AIF, Fund II as a Category II AIF, and Fund III as a Category I AIF.

Leadership

Deepak Gupta is Founding Partner at WEH Ventures. He has worked with founders at the earliest stages and focuses on identifying businesses with the potential to create new categories.

Rohit Krishna is General Partner and has been investing alongside Gupta since the firm's early days. His background includes corporate bonds at Moody's and listed-equity investing at Spark Capital before moving into early-stage venture capital.
