Prosus Ventures
Prosus Ventures backs technology companies across e-commerce, fintech, food delivery, mobility, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on building large digital businesses in high-growth markets.
Overview
Prosus Ventures is the venture investment arm of Prosus, a global technology investor headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Prosus traces its investment history to the technology investment operations of Naspers and became an independently listed company in 2019. Its investment platform spans India, Europe, Latin America, and other international markets.
The firm combines venture capital with experience operating and scaling technology businesses. Its strategy increasingly centres on building interconnected digital commerce businesses, where food delivery, payments, consumer services, and e-commerce can benefit from shared infrastructure and customer relationships.
Investment Focus and Stage
Prosus Ventures invests across early-stage and growth-stage businesses, with interests spanning consumer internet, fintech, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, logistics, education, and mobility. Its approach combines investments in established digital platforms with early-stage companies developing technologies that can reshape consumer services and business operations.
The firm has increasingly prioritised artificial intelligence applications that improve online shopping, advertising, customer support, and operational efficiency. It also explores frontier technologies such as robotics, drones, and other emerging technologies. Its investment decisions reflect both the potential of individual companies and their ability to contribute to broader digital commerce opportunities.
Fund Size and Portfolio
Prosus Ventures invested more than $400 million across over 40 transactions in FY2025, including $88 million in AI-related investments. Rather than operating solely through a conventional standalone venture fund, it invests through Prosus's broader corporate investment platform.
Its Indian portfolio includes Swiggy, a food delivery and quick-commerce platform; Meesho, an e-commerce marketplace serving value-conscious consumers; PayU, a digital payments and financial services business; Urban Company, a home services marketplace; Rapido, a ride-hailing platform; ixigo, an online travel booking company; PharmEasy, a digital healthcare platform; ElasticRun, a technology-enabled logistics and distribution business; and Eruditus, an executive education provider.
Other investments include Niyo, a digital banking and financial services platform; Mensa Brands, which builds and scales digital-first consumer brands; and Arivihan, an AI-powered personalised learning platform. In 2026, Prosus Ventures co-led a $10 million Series A investment in Arivihan following an earlier investment in the company.
The firm has also recorded major public-market milestones. Swiggy listed on Indian stock exchanges in November 2024, with Prosus partially selling its stake during the IPO. Meesho went public in December 2025, while Urban Company and BlueStone also listed in 2025. These listings created liquidity opportunities while allowing Prosus to retain exposure to several businesses' future growth.
